Sunesis Learning Initiative
Dr. Solomon Appiah — Founder & Lead Strategist | Pastor | Policy Analyst | Governance Advisor
Sunesis Learning Initiative was birthed out of more than two decades of prior formation, service, and doctrinal labor carried by its founder, under apostolic authority.
Dr. Solomon Appiah was formed through divine revelation, disciplined study, practical application, active ministry labor, doctrinal stewardship, and cross-national service.
The Formation Arc: 2002–2025
SLI was birthed as an institutional expression of a mandate formed through sustained service, training, and apostolic doctrinal labor.
Apostolic Recognition & Affirmation
Covering and Apostolic Office
The ministry and Tchr. Dr. Solomon Appiah have received departmental and presidential recognition including the LoveWorld Presidential Award (Top 10 Partnering Ministry Globally), and other departmental awards—affirming SLI's standing as a trusted partnering ministry in doctrine, order, and Kingdom impact.
This relationship is not merely institutional but Pauline in nature. The apostle Paul spoke of believers who "were partakers of my grace" (Philippians 1:7), identifying shared apostolic grace rather than parallel or independent authority. In this same biblical pattern, Dr. Solomon Appiah shares in the apostolic grace of Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome, received through sustained doctrine, submission, spiritual fatherhood, and impartation ministered through the laying on of hands. This impartation has been administered on multiple occasions, including during ministers' visitation programs (MVP) of the Healing School and the Healing Streams Live Healing Services.
In October 2024, Dr. Solomon Appiah was formally inaugurated as a Cell Leader under the International School of Ministry (ISM). This inauguration established recognized ecclesial and pastoral authority for the training, alignment, and deployment of ministers.
As an ISM-inaugurated Cell Leader, Dr. Appiah operates with pastoral authority to establish and oversee churches (ecclesia). These cells are not lay fellowships; they are composed of fivefold ministers, and the doctrinal material taught monthly is received directly from Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome and transmitted with fidelity and order to these ministers.
SLI executes this portion of its mandate through the Sunesis Global Ministers' Cell (SGMC)—a structured ministers' network that aligns pastors in doctrine, order, and evangelistic focus. Through SGMC, churches ("cells") are planted, strengthened, and governed as apostolic outposts within every sphere of influence, including governance, education, health, business, media, and the home.
July 2025 Apostolic Prophetic Utterance
Pastor Chris: I want to tell you something. He lives in you. You are His new home address. The Master lives in you.
Pastor Chris: Where are you from?
Man of God: From Ghana
Pastor Chris: You are from Ghana.
Oh the Black Star.
Ghana is a beautiful country, right?
It is not far from here. About half an hour's flight. But they do not do it in half an hour. They just move around the air and take you back.
Pastor Chris: You know God is doing something special with us in these last days. Something very special. He is changing the dynamics and is doing mighty things in shorter times.
He said, "a quick work will the Lord do. He will cut it short in righteousness." He is doing a mighty work right now all around the world. He just needed us. He just needed those who would take his assignment seriously for the last days and He has said he is not changing the timing. There is no need to elongate the time. There is no need if He has those who would do it. And we are committed to doing it so that the Lord's time would be as perfect as he wants.
Pastor Chris: You know, Peter said the delay is because of salvation. The Lord, not willing that any should perish, delays the time. But if we work hard, there would be no delay. And we are working hard.
Pastor Chris: So the glory of His presence is the glamour of your life.
Our Origin and Mandate
Sunesis Learning Initiative (SLI) was birthed as an institutional expression of a divine mandate formed through active service, doctrinal training, and apostolic labor, in obedience to Christ's Great Commission:
"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations…" (Matthew 28:19)
Foundational Years — Prior to 2002
Training and early ministry labor were undertaken in the United States under Pastor Ernest McBride, including prison ministry and community engagement that later informed work in governance, justice, and institutional reform.
During this period, technical and professional training in Environmental Engineering at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology provided early integration of spiritual calling with practical competence. A power-awakening encounter through the ministry of Benny Hinn further deepened conviction regarding the reality of God's demonstrated power in ministry.
1990s–2000s — Early International Ministry and Expansion
International ministry operations followed, with service extending from a Ghana base into neighbouring African countries and eventually into Trinidad, and multiple nations. Alongside ministry labor, systematic academic formation progressed through Public Administration (Ghana), International Affairs and Public Policy (Germany), and doctoral-level training in International Diplomacy—establishing capacity for engagement in governance, leadership, and public systems.
Formational Foundation (2002–2025)
The Answer to Prayer
In the early 2000s, while actively serving in North America and already witnessing God's power in ministry contexts, a Spirit-led hunger arose: to see an African raised by God, ministering the Word with power, demonstration, and doctrinal clarity.
That prayer was answered when divine orchestration brought Dr. Solomon Appiah into sustained contact with the ministry and message of Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome. This marked the beginning of doctrinal alignment.
Formation Through Doctrine (2002–2025)
What followed was sustained apostolic labor mediated through doctrine. Disciplined engagement with the teaching of Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome—received through consistent study and truth-based spiritual authority—shaped both ministry life and message, in keeping with the scriptural pattern: "My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you" (Galatians 4:19).
From Distance to Proximity
In a moment of crisis—at the point of death—proximity was sovereignly granted through the Healing Streams Live Healing Services, during which Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome called Dr. Solomon Appiah by name on the global broadcast and prayed for him publicly. This intervention marked preservation of life and continuity of mandate.
From that point onward, participation became more direct and ordered. IPPC attendance, Healing School engagement, International School of Ministry training, SGMC leadership, and Healing Centers hosting followed—evidencing promotion by grace.
Continuity Proven
Across decades, the doctrinal marks have remained consistent: eternal life consciousness, righteousness as present reality, and the Christ-life now. Scripture teaches that fruit reveals seed (Matthew 7:16).
Sunesis Learning Initiative exists as a structured transmission of apostolic doctrine, committing truth to faithful men who will teach others also (2 Timothy 2:2).
Multi-Sphere Ministry and Governance Engagement
This mandate has never been confined to the church sphere alone. From its earliest expressions, ministry labor has extended into governance, leadership, and public life, in keeping with the Kingdom pattern that truth addresses both persons and systems.
Vision, Mission & Core Values
Rooted in Matthew 28:19-20
Vision
Making disciples of every organized people-group, system, and institution—demonstrating the presence of Christ and forming Christ in them.
Mission
To disciple leaders and communities wherever we are sent—teaching them to observe all Christ commanded until His authority governs their lives, decisions, and systems.
We do this by bringing people into covenant identity with Christ, equipping them with integrated understanding (sunesis), and training them to apply His Word faithfully in governance, education, leadership, and all spheres of influence.
Five Core Values
-
Disciple Formation (Not Conversion)Root: μαθητεύσατεJesus commanded the formation of disciples—people apprenticed into obedient following. Everything we do serves sustained formation.
-
Sunesis — Integrated Comprehension for ObedienceRoot: διδάσκοντες… τηρεῖνJesus said teach them to observe. This requires sunesis—the Spirit-enabled ability to integrate truth and understand how Christ's commands apply in real life. Sunesis is the cognitive engine of discipleship.
-
Covenant Identity in ChristRoot: βαπτίζοντες αὐτούςDiscipleship begins with belonging. Baptism establishes covenant identity—who we are in Christ, under whose authority we live.
-
Peoples and Systems as the Field of DiscipleshipRoot: πάντα τὰ ἔθνηJesus defined the scope as all ethnē—organized peoples, cultures, institutions, and systems. Discipleship addresses how people live, lead, govern, and decide within structures.
-
Demonstrated Presence of ChristRoot: ἐγὼ μεθ' ὑμῶν εἰμιThe mission is sustained by Christ's abiding presence. We demonstrate His life and authority through disciples who live under His rule.
