Pastor Dr. Solomon Appiah is a Bible teacher, international policy expert, and the Founding President and Apostolic Lead of the Sunesis Learning Initiative (SLI) — a platform dedicated to advancing Kingdom values and discipling nations across every sphere of society.

EARLY FOUNDATIONS

Formation in Ghana and the United States

Raised in a Christian home in Ghana by parents who actively supported multiple churches, his spiritual foundation was established early.

His formal ministry training deepened in the United States under the mentorship of Pastor Ernest McBride. There, rigorous Bible study and hands-on prison ministry forged his early pulpit leadership and instilled a lifelong conviction regarding justice and institutional reform.

INTERNATIONAL POLICY

Policy and Governance

Alongside this ministry calling, Pastor Dr. Appiah built a distinguished career in international policy and governance. He served as a Public Policy Analyst within the Africa Progress Panel Secretariat in Geneva, under the chairmanship of former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan.

In this capacity, he contributed to the landmark 2013 Africa Progress Report, Equity in Extractives — a seminal publication that sent shockwaves through the global extractives industry, catalysing continental policy reform and transparency frameworks. His contributions are permanently recognised on the report's acknowledgements page.

He subsequently served at the Natural Resources Governance Institute (NRGI) and collaborated with the Government of Ghana on significant reform initiatives.

CONVERGENCE

Two Vocations, One Convergence

Today, that vocational order has reversed. Pastoral and apostolic work is now his primary calling; governance engagement continues selectively, and often confidentially.

Sunesis Learning Initiative is the institutional form that convergence takes.

PUBLIC SERVICE

Constitutional Governance

In public service, Pastor Dr. Appiah was nominated by the President of Ghana in 2015 to the Sixth Ghana Prisons Service Council under Article 206 of the 1992 Constitution.

As Chairman of the Project Efiase Planning Committee, he contributed to the strategic development and fundraising initiative launched by President John Dramani Mahama in June 2015. The Council secured a GH₵50 million government funding commitment announced in Parliament for prison infrastructure and rehabilitation across Ghana's 43 prison establishments.

He also served as lead author and editor of the inaugural Project Efiase Annual Report to Stakeholders (2015–2016), the Council's first public accounting to the nation.

Record: Documented outcomes are recorded in the Impact Portfolio.
SCHOLARSHIP

Faculty and Authorship

Academically, he served as pioneer graduate faculty at Wisconsin International University College, Ghana, where he designed and operationalised curriculum frameworks in International Relations, Governance, and Public Policy.

He is the author of Called to Fellowship and a globally sought-after speaker.

APOSTOLIC ALIGNMENT

Covering and Ministerial Deployment

Operating under the spiritual covering of Rev. Dr. Chris Oyakhilome, Pastor Dr. Appiah serves as an ambassador of the International School of Ministry (ISM). Through the Sunesis Global Ministers' Cell (SGMC), he mobilises pastors and church leaders, connecting them to apostolic grace and teaching.

Under his leadership, SLI was honoured among the Top 10 Partnering Ministries at the LoveWorld Presidential Awards.

Through teaching, leadership, and intercession, Pastor Dr. Appiah integrates spiritual intelligence (sunesis) with policy expertise to produce transformative solutions for individuals, institutions, and nations preparing for Christ's return.
